On the eve of the holiday of Sukkot, the Austrian Embassy in Cyprus paid a visit to the Chief Rabbi’s office at the Central Synagogue in Cyprus. During the meeting, the discussion focused on the remarkable growth of the Jewish community in Cyprus and ways to further strengthen and support its development.
Her Excellency Ambassador Dr. Susanne Bachfischer graciously presented the Chief Rabbi with a meaningful gift “The Memorial”, a book commemorating the inauguration ceremony of the Shoah Wall of Names Memorial.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Austrian Embassy for this thoughtful visit and gesture. It is our hope that Cyprus will soon have its own Jewish Museum, dedicated to preserving the memory of the Holocaust, exploring Cyprus’ unique historical connection to the post-war camps, and promoting a message of tolerance and acceptance for future generations.
