Holocaust Remembrance day 2026

On Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Jewish Community of Cyprus gathered once again for a deeply moving and meaningful memorial, uniting community members, friends, and guests in shared remembrance and reflection.

The ceremony was led by the Chief Rabbi of Cyprus, Rabbi Arie Zeev Raskin, whose words and prayers guided the evening with sensitivity, strength, and profound respect for the memory of the six million Jews who were murdered in the Holocaust. Through prayer, reflection, and moments of silence, we honored the victims, paid tribute to the survivors, and reaffirmed our commitment to remembrance.

We were honored to welcome ambassadors, dignitaries, representatives of local government, and special guests, whose presence underscored the importance of standing together against hatred, antisemitism, and intolerance. Their participation reflected a shared responsibility to preserve historical memory and to educate future generations about the consequences of silence and indifference.

Holocaust Remembrance Day is not only a time to look back, but also a call to action. It reminds us of the importance of strengthening our values of human dignity, compassion, and justice. Under the leadership of Rabbi Raskin, the Jewish Community of Cyprus continues its mission to remember, to educate, and to ensure that the lessons of the Holocaust remain relevant in our world today.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all who joined us for this solemn occasion. Together, we keep the memory alive and honor the promise of Never Again.
